Tale of Wilson: Lost in the Flood

It started as a normal day on the farm. Wilson the Chicken was pecking around, enjoying the sunshine, when suddenly—BAM!—the skies turned dark, and a wild storm rolled in. The wind howled, and the river began to rise, faster than Wilson could run.

At first, Wilson didn’t mind the rain. But as the water rose higher, his feathers got wet, and the barnyard began to flood. He looked around in panic—he didn’t want to leave. He loved his home. He loved his barn. But the floodwaters didn’t care.

“Wilson! Lo Siento!” his owner cried from the doorway, helpless as the water kept rising. Wilson looked back at him, eyes wide with fear. He didn’t want to leave. He didn’t want to float away, but the current was too strong. His heart sank as he saw the wooden plank drifting by.

Without thinking, he scrambled onto the plank, clinging to it for dear life. It wasn’t an adventure—it was survival. The waters carried him farther from his home, farther from his owner’s voice.

As the storm raged on, Wilson sat trembling on the small plank, too scared to move. He looked back, longing for his cozy corner of the barn, for the familiar sounds of the farm. He heard his owner’s voice again, faint but filled with regret, “Wilson! Lo Siento!” But it was too late. The flood had taken him.

And so, Wilson floated away, lost to the storm. His journey wasn’t one of bravery—it was a reluctant goodbye to everything he knew. The farm, the safety, and the love of his owner were gone.

Moral of the story: Sometimes, the storms of life take us away when we least expect it. And while we may float far from home, our hearts will always long for the place we belong.
